AERC collaborative workshop: Revisiting Capital Flight and Inflation in Resource Rich Countries

The AERC- ZEPARU dissemination workshop running under the theme “Revisiting Capital Flight and Inflation in Resource Rich Countries”  was held on the 28th of February 2017, Crowne Plaza, Harare.

The workshop saw the presentation of two papers,

  • Capital Flight and Trade Misinvoicing in Zimbabwe by Leonard Mandishara (NANGO); and
  • Determinants of Inflation in a dollarised Economy: A case of Zimbabwe by Philton Makena(RBZ).

In attendance were AERC delegates, (Dr W. Simbanegavi – Director of Research and Dr. W. Wasike – AERC Manager of Collaborative research).

The meeting was also graced by the presence of the Permanent Secretary, Macro Economic Planning and Investment Promotion, Dr. D. Sibanda, and delegates from Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Mines and Mining Development, MEFMI, UNDP, World Bank, Techfin, University of Zimbabwe, CZI, ZIA, ZIMRA, NECF,ZNCC and Chamber of Mines.
